Hillbilly Pie (Poor Man’s Pie) 🥧✨ – The Ultimate Retro Comfort Dessert Hillbilly Pie, often called Poor Man’s Pie or Desperation Pie, is a classic vintage recipe born out of necessity. It relies on basic pantry staples—sugar, butter, and eggs—to create a filling that magically transforms in the oven. The result is a custard-like bottom with a crackly, meringue-like top, often enhanced with a handful of pecans if they were available. It’s sweet, buttery, and tastes like a cross between a sugar p
